Howdy, I am Joseph Allen~ I really hope you will enjoy my music no matter what your musical background is… It is not just Country, It’s Country/Western. What does that mean? It means I am not from Nashville! Though I love Nashville and think some of the nicest people, the best music and the best food is there. I am from California, the same place where Roy Rodgers, Buck Owens and a whole lot of other greats of Country are from~ when it used to be called Country/Western. Somehow the West got lost in the mix. But, that is were I come in! I am a Cowboy at heart, raised with horses, drove a Hay truck when I was in College and never stopped wearing my Cowboy boots, even when I was looked at funny growing up by some. After 6’ no one seemed to say anything anyway. When It comes down to it~ It doesn’t matter where you are from, it is where you are headed that matters.
I love the Old West. It was the final frontier for dreamers, gold diggers and outlaws. From the Majestic ruins of New Mexico to the Desert Cliffs of Grand Canyon Arizona, from Aspen Colorado to Utah, (oh yeah! fit Idaho and it’s potatoes somewhere in there) the California Deserts where I am from to the Coasts of its ocean, are some of the greatest places and people on planet earth! That gives the West and what it is to all who have ever experienced it a never ending bliss of eye candy. A place where the guitar helped the cowboys and cowgirls dance, love and also fall asleep on the open prairie of wonder. OK it’s getting deep… let’s move on… Hopefully you will catch these overtones in my writing and guitar playing along with my vocals.
My heart is to bring you music that you can dream with, drive with, dance with and love with. We all have had life changing experiences, some good and some bad but life goes on with or without us.
