How Our Proud Holiday Cheer Program Works:
We accept applications for assistance from military members, families, and dependents.
We use your information/picture to put in our Adopt-A-Troop/Military Family section of our website (store) http://www.proudhearts.org (follow the links on the homepage). Our sponsors choose the military members and/or families they wish to sponsor. They, then, receive a thank you note with your picture. The proceeds of the sponsorship go to help fund programs that will serve you and your family.
At such time, you may choose to communicate with your sponsor, and you can arrange with them shipping information so that they can send care packages as well.
They may ask you for what you need (a wish list). It is up to you whether or not you want to participate in the Adopt-A-Troop Program and communicate with your sponsor.
With the donations we receive from the Adopt-A-Troop Program, we also send care packages to all of our military and families.
I miss Daddy in the morning
I miss him when it's dark
I miss Daddy when I eat my lunch and when I'm at the park
I send my Daddy packages with lots of special treats
like photographs, and messages
and yummy things to eat
When Daddy calls to talk to me I tell him "I love you!"
and we make plans for his return -
fun things we're going to do
Sometimes I miss him oh so much
I cry, or pout, or yell
My Mommy says "we'll see him soon" -
She misses him as well
I know he misses all of us while he is far away
And how I wish when he comes home
That he'll be here to stay
My Daddy is my hero
He works hard while he's gone
I know he loves me very much
I can't wait to have him home.

Once the collection of poems/written work is completed, all net proceeds from the collections will go towards helping Proud Heart Kids.
