Why did you get into radio?
Ben Maller: The key to life is to get paid for something you love, I enjoying talking sports and they pay me!
Karen Kay: Because I LOVE to talk! Started my radio career at the age of 18!!
What is your favorite part of your job?
BM: Connecting with the listener.
KK: The people I work with and the callers.
Who is your favorite athlete of all time?
BM: William "Refrigerator" Perry and Joey Chestnut.
KK: Walter Payton & Tony Gwynn.
Which teams did you root for growing up?
BM: Dodgers, Clippers, Angels, Rams.
KK: San Diego Padres, Chargers, Notre Dame and the Lakers.
What is the biggest sports rivalry in the country and why?
BM: UCLA vs. USC... Two schools in the same city just a few miles apart.
KK: Yankees/RedSox. Because EVERYONE somewhere cares about these two teams!!
What is the greatest athletic event you have ever seen?
BM: Game 7 of the 1997 World Series. Marlins beat Indians in extra innings to win the championship.
KK: The Anaheim Angels winning the World Series over the San Francisco Giants!
What is a sport that you never thought you would like, but now have grown to enjoy?
BM: Competitive eating (when I was a kid it wasn't a pro sport).
KK: GOLF!!!
Favorite actor and actress of all time?
BM: Vince Vaughn. Jessica Simpson.
KK: Sandra Bullock and Denzel Washington.
Five favorite movies of all time?
BM: Good Fellas, Wedding Crashers, Major League then all the rest
KK: Rudy, Wizard of Oz, Little Miss Sunshine, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
If you were not working in radio, what would you be doing?
BM: Working on the web rumor page.
KK: School teacher.
Who has been the biggest influence in your career?
BM: Lee "Hacksaw" Hamilton, Tony Bruno and as a kid listening to LA radio legend Jim Healy.
