Hey people.
By releasing its self-titled album, the band G.I. has reached a culmination after 8 years so far, of musical adventures. Growing up together in music, they started in the old girls-locker in the schoolyard of their primary school. Those who have watched the band through all the years, have witnessed how 3 teenagers have moved forward to become a band with a clear and cutting, country-influenced rock-style. In the last 3 years with bass-player Jonas Bak to make ends fit. The mind is wandering to the 70ies’ rock-bands. Naughty slide-riffs and in your face vocal jobs, dirty tremolo and a raw low-end. A style where energy and authenticity is crucial. The message is there, and it’s delivered on a live-recording, without the polished, modern sound of the past decades. It’s rough. Nerve and presence have been keywords through the process, and the music appears attentive and concerned. Because the CD was recorded live, in front of an invited audience of good friends who made the night a real kick, the result comes with great intensity. To G.I. working with lyrics is important and the American rock-poet Neill C. Furio, who has worked with Danish artists as Lars Hug, Marie Frank, Boatman Love, Nina Fosberg, ect., has contributed with great guidance and support in the making.
The album G.I. is a solid, diverse and honest rock album!
