About Me

Mejdaji in color

Mejdaji stands for "2nd eldest brother" (of which he is in his family).
Musical History:
Mejdaji aka James Edward Garcia has performed and recorded many solo albums originally under the name Dimthings .. & later the name developed into Dimthingshine ..during the 1980's - early 1990's. The music was in the vein of prog rock / art rock mixed with jazz, funk, electronics, avant-garde, experimental, new music. As a multi-instrumentalist, many of these recordings were performed all by Dimthingshine. Some of these recordings have been re-mastered and re-issued on CD on the Thingsflux Music label. James has recently started recording once again as Dimthingshine and completed a CD project in January 2008.
He had played drums / percussion in many bands in every type style imaginable.. most notibly prog avant-jazz band "Ulterior Lux" & art alt noise band "Scraping Teeth". Had performed mostly in South Florida, but also in Europe, Connecticut, & New York. Had done several projects with bassist Jean Chaine. Did the soundtrack to a low budget movie.
Mejdaji aka James Edward Garcia has also started to record his own rock and roll music. He released a Full length CD and EP on the Thingsflux Music label in 2007 singing and playing everything himself. For this musical project he goes by the artist name: Dimthingshineon.
Had spent several years delving into Metaphysical - Occult - Spiritual - Religious studies. This lead to his interest in creative music again.. but from an esoteric, mystical, healing arts approach.

Sounds Like: Mejdaji recordings are of unique hand drumming styles, ensembles, and tribal trance dance rhythms, electro-acoustic rhythms, vocal toning and chanting composition, fusion / world music compositions, experimental sounds and approaches, healing composition and sound, insightful and self exploratory lyrics.

None of these CD’s are like the safely sugar coated over produced music you find dominating the new age music market, which can come across as superficial. It is unique, more raw and pure in essence and execution.

New CD release completed beginning of February 2008 incorporating sound/singing bowls, some vocal toning, and other instruments. It is healing/cleansing audio meditations through sound art experimentations. It is a very relaxing yet powerful listening/healing experience. This CD is volume 1 in a series.

What does Mejdaji sound like?
Tribal Trance Dance, Tribal drumming, drum circle, hand drumming, fire walk drumming, vocal toning, vocal yoga, mantra, chant, sound vibration, sound healing, intuitive – channeled drumming and improvisation, journey drumming, meditation drumming and sound, ancient ceremonial music, experimental, explorative, avant-garde forms of sound, composition, and improvisation, fusion, jungle rhythms, hypnotic rhythms, world music, eclectic, songs with lyrics of depth.
