About Me

Glowing Shade is an independent band from Geneva (Switzerland), which was founded in 1999. It started after a few years of a deep friendship between Yannick Kilian Chavanne (aka Yak) and Sven Meinich. They met Matthew Curtis, an English musician from Essex, while tripping in Australia, in spring 2000. Matt joined them in Geneva about a year later. Glowing Shade made its first and last show at the Balelec Festival in Lausanne (Switzerland), in May 2001, under the name 'The Grimble Grumble Connexion'. After that, the band released its first and only album until now, 'Dropped in the Endless Quest', which was self-produced. Yak recorded in 2002 a solo project entitled 'In a Dim Ringing' (myspace.com/yakinshade). Many songs were written during the last years. They will be released on another name in an undetermined future...
