The Dagger Rebellion is a five piece Metal band from various parts of Cleveland Ohio. Currently located mostly in Akron, Ohio. TDR has been together for close to three years now, and has had a very serious lineup for close to two. One thing that sticks out about this band is they do not like to set any type of boundries for their music and you can use several labels to describe them, Metal, Melodic Death, Progressive, but beyond all the labels, they make sure that each song is a ride in itself. It's very rare to see two songs sound alike, and its likely you wont see any. They are no strangers to the stage either, having played Peabodys Downunder, Grog Shop, Fat Jimmy's, HiFi Concert Club, Orange Street, The Cove, Jigsaw Saloon, and several other prominent Northeast Ohio venues, its now inevitable to begin to see them begin to expand out of this region. Also they have taken the runner up spot in the Peabodys Battle of The Bands, and was a high placer in the three round Kent Battle of Standing Rock. Now that all five members are tenativly living within 20 minutes of each other, there is no indication of how large the monster will grow..
The Dagger Rebellion News
The last time I had to write a message like this, there was a lot of difficulty that came along with the statements made on here. However, after giving myself a night to cool down, I have no difficulty in saying what needs to be said. Saturday should have been a great day for The Dagger Rebellion and its fans. We released our new EP 'Beauty and Illusions' for streaming and we were to announce Nick Borukhovsky of Forever in Terror as our new drummer.. Who had previously been hard at work learning our material for scream the cure. But after a few practises in the weeks leading up to the show we began hearing from him less and less frequently. Until finally, we didn't hear from him at all, until a few days before this past weekend where he promised us 2 long practises over the weekend. Saturday, 30 minutes before we were schedulled to practise he complained of more car troubles, and had no indication of showing up. We panicked and began our search for a replacement to learn our set in 6 days, as time dwindled, yesterday came, and we'd like to thank Dan of Corpse Gallery for attempting to learn the set, but unfortunetly its way too much for one person to learn in such a short time. Thus we have come to the conclusion that we must drop off our own show, and we will not be appearing at Scream The Cure 2008. We are extremely saddened, but we refuse to let this ruin the event because the cause is far to great, and the other bands have worked so hard getting tickets out to fans. We will all be in attendance to make sure the raffle goes smoothly and hopefully to hand out some demo's. We apoligize to those who were going to see us, but we hope you will still come anyway to support the AMAZING bands on this show, and the even more incredible cause. We will once again be searching for a new drummer. I should be bothered, but this new material is so strong, and the songs we will be producing in the next few weeks will be so feirce we can only be excited to finally tear a giant fucking hole in the cleveland metal scene the next time we hit the stage (whenever that may be). We need you all more than ever! Please get the word out about the show, our need for a competent drummer, and if you dig the tunes, help get us known to even more music fans.
See you guys soon,
Paul
