About Me

If you're on my close list of friends, you already know enough about me (maybe more than you'd like to know...lol.) For those of you who don't know me, I guess I would say I'm pretty laid back and somewhat contemplative...I love questioning life and all it has to offer. I work with kids and enjoy being able to make a difference in their lives. I was born in India but raised in Southern Cali. I think I represent a good mix of east meets west with a lil mischief thrown in! :}~

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Vivaldi, Beethoven, Einstein, Picasso...People who achieved greatness inspite of facing lack of understanding on the part of society. Greatness in the form of genius is often misinterpreted as madness... The only limitations we face are those which we inflict upon ourselves. If we are told we cannot or should not do it, we are left to decide whether to concede or rebel. Rebellion is the driving force for change...

Music:

Love R&B, hip-hop, a lil rap, some reggae and of course sound tracks to indian movies. Nothing like singing along to some heart-felt lovesick song about undying love or dancing to some upbeat party music.

Movies:

The Devil Wears Prada, My Best Friends Wedding, Real Women Have Curves, The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, and a whole slew of indian movies that star Shah Rukh Khan. I'm a sucker for Kuch Kuch Hota hai, Devdas, DDLJ, KKKG ( If you're indian u'll know what movies I'm referring to). :)lol.

Television:

I've decreased the amount of time I spend watching tv but still catch the occasional episode of Ugly Betty or anything that might be on Bravo.

Books:

Tuesdays With Morrie (A must read!), Circle of Friends, When Love Calls, You Better Answer,Kushiel's Dart, Kushiel's Chosen, Kushiel's Avatar, The Inscrutable Americans, Queen of Dreams, India Gate, The Namesake, The English Patient, Wuthering Heights, The Great Gatsby, Of Mice and Men, Invisible Man (although I haven't finished it yet) The Ground Beneath her Feet, Fury,I also enjoy cheesy romance novels or just novels about life in general. Recently completed a novel by the name of The Nanny Diaries...It was quirky and compelling. I guess I found that I could relate to it.lol.

Heroes:

Can't name one particular person but I admire people who are honest and trustworthy. It takes a lot to be true to yourself and to others. Many people don't take the time to realize how their actions affect others. To seek change within yourself can aid you to bring about change in others...
