biography
Jeff Denomme (owner) on NEW company car/toy haha. (vancouver)
In his youth Jeff Denomme lived an extreme lifestyle, venting his distaste for authority through skateboarding, snowboarding, BMX, and loud music. In the summer of '96 he found a Utopian realm where all the things he loved combined to create a Punk Rock paradise: The Vans Warped Tour. In the years to follow he attended religiously, wondering how he could be part of this wave or the rest of his life. Jeff had a vision, which by late 2002, was well on its way to becoming a reality. In August the first Fathom Clothing T-shirts were available for purchase. A word of mouth sensation, all 80 shirts printed found their way onto the backs of Windsorites within the next two months. Realizing that this could be more then just a dream; Jeff set himself upon the path of forming a real company. There was no multi million-dollar budget or market analysts. No sample groups or secret research. More importantly, there was no need for them. Being a 19 year old kid from Windsor, Ontario, Jeff simply designed what he and his friends wanted to wear. It didn't exist, so he made it. Being a fixture at just about every concert in the Windsor Detroit area, Jeff had first hand knowledge of what the kids in the scene were wearing and what they were into. This is where it gets exciting. Combining his intense passion for music, and his innate business sense, Jeff sought out bands, which "made his ears and heart smile." Jeff hand picked bands whom he deeply believed in, and approached them for sponsorship. Choosing only bands, which he felt, reflected a similar drive to his own, he asked them to represent his artistic expressions on a canvas made of cotton. This is where Taking Back Sunday and Silverstein hopped on board the Fathom Clothing train. Although both bands were still very small at this time, Jeff had faith and didn't mind taking a risk to keep them warm and dry, both on and off stage. Together with their shared passion they would take the world by storm. In 2003 three Jeff returned to the event, which started it all: Van's Warped Tour. Those initial two days proved to be the perfect venue for his upstart company to debut it's clothing to the world. Already having ties to influential, and upcoming bands, he lived, breathed, and sweat the same thoughts and style his clientele lived by. Always on the look out for new talent, Jeff's eyes and ears were glued to a small side stage and a band called Matchbook Romance. When he heard them he knew they were the perfect addition to his already existing two-band family. Within two years MBR had outgrown their little side stage and were now headlining the The Vans Warped Tour. "We've shared some great times and they are all great guys. Judas of MBR also helped me achieve one of my dreams by shooting the video for â€,,Promise” wearing a Fathom shirt. Kids all over the world were able to see my shirt on MTV and Much Music on one of the best bands around. Thanks again Judas." Spurred on by success the previous year, Fathom returned to the 2004 Warped Tour for 30 dates, covering the entire east coast of Canada and the USA. Leaving his parents minivan behind, Fathom teamed up with Silverstein once again, this time sharing a tour bus. Although way more comfy then the van, that many guys packed into a bus for over a month made for some interesting sights ...and smells. All stinkiness aside, the tour was a blast, marking a high point in Jeff's 21 years of existence. Not only a Punk Rock vacation, the trip spread Fathom into entirely new markets, and was a massive success. While partying with the tour in Florida, Jeff met a guy named Brandon who suggested he check out his band that day. The instant they began to play,Jeff found himself captivated. After the set, Brandon introduced Jeff to Keith and Dave, the other members of the band, and Bleed The Dream was brought into the fold as the next addition to the Fathom family. Warped Tour 2005 was by far the best selling year. Kids were lined up before the booth could even be setup. Special thanks goes out to Bleed the Dream and Silverstein for wearing Fathom during their set and calling Jeff on stage, in front of thousands of kids to toss out some free shirts to the fans. The good times continued with Wakestock 2005, the "World Cup of Wakeboarding" in Toronto, Canada. Other bands that are sponsored and or have supported Fathom Clothing: Hawthorne Heights, The Reason, Saosin, Yellowcard, Halifax, Underoath, A Step Behind, Brand New, Pat Robitaille and Leighton Bain Thanks to all bands mentioned above, and anyone who ever purchased goods or helped me out on the journey. Special thanks go out to Gary and Doris Denomme, Pablo Golob, Nick Poisson, Alex Golob, Tyler Deblock, Candice Pearson, Bridget Power, Daryl Urhin, Gilles Spina, Blair Turton, Brad Bancroft, Brandon Kolody, Darryl Burrell, Sara Kimmerly, and Lindsay Miller. " If it wasn't for bands such as NOFX, Pennywise, Rancid, Operation Ivy, Descendents, Guttermouth, (Kevin Lyman founder of Warped tour) and my parents. I would not be who I am today. Those Individuals made me believe in myself and also in others. Their live shows would contain shout outs to Unity, being yourself and taking care of each other. They also mentioned that if we stuck together we could take over the world. We have, I have proof that this is true. Warped tour is going to be celebrating it's 12th birthday in the summer of 2006 and has been growing at an uncontrollable rate and will continue to grow. I have lived on this belief system since1996 and continue to live my days like this. All I ask is, for the kids enjoying this music today to carry on the legacy and live by the same beliefs that the founders did. Thank you so much to all the bands and everyone who has helped keep this alive for so many years." -Jeff Denomme
