family:
I have two sets of parents (my mom & stepdad, and my dad & his wife), and one younger brother
my core:
God encountered my heart at 6. It was the first time i'd ever experienced true joy, and my life's never been the same since. if only you could see what i've seen, and know the hope to which you've been called. i pray that you would know a love that surpasses all understanding, that in Him you would find breath and life and every good thing, and that you would lose your life to gain it.
Jesus is the fullness of Joy
Jesus is the fulfillment of hope
Jesus is the guarantee of eternity
it's all about the God-Man Jesus... (Romans 4:25)
my education:
I graduated high school in 2002 @ age 17. Since I wasn't yet an adult, I didn't have any choice as to weather I would attend college, or when. I'd been self sufficient since I was 15, when I started my own side business doing technology consulting. Once I turned 16, and got my first "job, job" my dad required me to give 25% back to the "house." I paid all my own bills (car insurance, cell phone, internet, food, gas, etc) except rent. I was accepted at Cal State Fullerton, and began attending while I was living at home. I was also working 38 hours a week for sams club. My job was 5 minutes from home, but school was a good 45 minute commute everyday. I turned 18 during the middle of my first semester, and moved out of my dads house. I shared a house down the street from CSUF with 3 other guys. So at 18, I became fully independent. I also left my job at sams club, and found a job on campus as a student tech. As the months went by my savings and income weren't enough to cover all the bills. I started incurring debt both by student loans, and credit cards. I couldn't seek financial support from my parents, as neither were capable. My financial issues were preventing me from focusing on school. I took way to many classes my first semester (6) and barely managed to pass them. I told myself I'd just have to focus on school harder the next semester. After the first 2 weeks of classes in my 2nd semester, I essentially stopped going and started working as much as possible to help pay my bills. I never officially dropped any of my classes, so my transcript by the end of the first year was a train wreck. I could no longer afford my bills, and my job on campus was contingent on my enrollment. I moved to central california, to live with my mom, in order to work full time and pay off my debt. God also had some things he needed to teach me about being a Man. Maturity is more then just age, and I realized how my parents divorce had forced me to "grow up" at a accelerated rate. College for me was like a setting a kid loose in a Candy store. I had true "freedom" for the first time in my life, and I was "livin it up." I ate what I wanted, when I wanted. I got up and went to sleep as it suited me. In every area of my life that my dad had held unreasonable standards, I rebelled. My dad had held me prisoner for 17 years of my life, and I hadn't yet dealt with those wounds. Over the past 4 years, I've grown in every way. I've faced the wounds, and God is healing them. In coming to Texas God has restored to me the years the locust have eaten (joel 2:18-27). My Testimony
