Borstal Holiday

About Me

Borstal Holiday plays rock n roll like it should be played--raw, passionate, and loud. A trio from Oakland, they have risen from the ashes of their formative outfits with a smoldering reverence for punk rock and the blues and a lean hunger to create a new, soulful collision--destined for reverence of its own.
Scott's been a fixture of the bay area music scene for longer than he can remember. Former front man of funk-metal outfit Mordred, he's now embraced his soulful roots, fronting the Northern-Soul/Mod group the Hi-Nobles when not strutting the stage with a bass in hand for Borstal Holiday.
Mark is an import from Nottingham, England. He left the UK for California to play with Blue Sun and now he splits his time between tracing bullets for the Oakland PD and slinging chords with Borstal Holiday.
David came from the midwest with a history of laying down the beat for punk band Quixotic and the blues/folk improvisation of Madison, Wisconsin's Stonefloat. Now in the Bay, he thunders along with the boys from Borstal Holiday.
"Discovered at our own highly acclaimed Dig This! local's only Wednesday series, Oakland's own Borstal Holiday's raw, edgy sound drew plenty of heads a few weeks back. Now, with a weekend headlining set of their own, the return along with a couple friends for another stellar performance."
