Slingtown brings together seasoned musicians who have toured worldwide and played with national recording artists, including Ty Herndon, Restless Heart, Rascal Flatts, Blackhawk, the Outlaws, Chris Cagle, Lonestar, Lee Greenwood, Chris Ledoux, The Bellamy Brothers, Sara Evans, Eric Heatherly, Martina McBride, Sara Buxton, Jason Michael Carroll, Luke Bryan, Dusty Drake, Sara Johns, Carolina Rain, and Taylor Swift. Could these musicians from different backgrounds and inclinations make successful music together? After composing a few tunes together the answer seemed to be a resounding YES! Crafting songs that revolve around love, relationships and the everyday rituals of life, Slingtown’s blend of vocal and song writing talents have forged them an unprecedented country sound that has an addictive quality for anyone that listens to it.
The band is comprised of Lead Singer Russ Birtola, Bassist Sal Birtola, Guitarist Mark Jones, Guitarist Mike Rose, Keyboards Kirk Gibbs, Drummer Ben Street, and fiddle player Michael Ray. Fueled by the fact that each member can both sing and write his own music, Slingtown has been touring the domestic U.S. writing a string of songs that have gained them many admirers throughout the country. Concentrating on 7-part harmony and acoustic texturing, Slingtown continually wows the crowd with that crisp country sound of harmony and intricate rhythms that will soon become their trademark in a new generation of country crossover music. It’s what the band calls "7-part Southern Harmony with Attitude!(tm)."
