About Me

Ja’Malik® started training at the age of 10 at the Marguerite Duncan Studio of Fine Arts. At age 14 he was asked to study at the School of Cleveland Ballet where he was an apprentice/corps member for two years. He is Alumnus of the Joffrey Ballet/New School B.F.A. program. He received scholarships and attended; School of American Ballet, School of Dance Theater of Harlem, Joffrey Ballet School, and The Ailey School where he was an Allistare Butler Fellowship recipient, and worked with Judith Jamison, William Forsythe, Ronald K. Brown and Dwight Rhoden among others. He is a former member of the Oakland Ballet, Ohio Ballet, Natahn Trice/RITUALS,Earl Mosley's Diversity of Dance, CityDance Ensemble, and North Carolina Dance Theatre. He is a working member of Collage Dance Collective, Camille A. Brown and Dancers, He is currently a member of Ballet X in Philadelphia Pennsylvania .. Ja'Malik is also a freelance choreographer under the auspice BalletBoy Productions As a Choreographer he has created works for North Carolina Dance Theatre 2 and CityDance Ensemble. This site was created to give you direct access to me and to what is new in my life in dance. Also gain access to what is going on in dance around the world. Anyone interested in me smile(it is called MYSPACE), dance and the advancement of the artform in the world with an ephasis on Earth... Oh yeah just for shits and giggles I would love to meet Victoria "Posh Spice" Beckham and Mariah Carey, They are the heat for me.. Any woman who believes in the abolishment of flat shoes is my kinda lady. Outside of that a few people would be Sylvie Guillem (have met numerous times but I want us to be BFF),Viviana Durante, Craig Hall(MSBF wink), Peter Martins, Darcey Bussell, William Forsythe, Maurice Bejart, Jiri Kylian, Christopher Wheeldon, Lori Ann Gibson, Paris Hilton (who should fund my company wink wink),Whitney Houston, and Janet Jackson and others. Hey I wanna meet you, yeah You!! And one of my favorite male vocalist Rahsaan Patterson his voice is the EVERYTHING for me since day 1....
