About Me

1964 – Steven Tyler forms his first “serious” band. The Strangeurs, later changed to Chain Reaction where Steven played drums and wrote songs with Don Solomon the keyboard player.
1966 – Steven enters the studio for the first time with Chain Reaction and record two singles. Meanwhile, Joe and Tom form a band called Pipe Dream, a free-form “Jam Band”.
1969 – Chain Reaction and the Jam Band both played gigs at Sunapee, NH’s “The Barn”. Hence, the meeting and union of Steven, Joe and Tom.
1970 - "Aerosmith" (named by Joey Kramer) is formed!!
1971 – Guitarist Ray Tabano leaves the band. Enter Brad Whitford!!
1972 – Summer-Aerosmith lands a deal with Columbia and enters the studio to record “Aerosmith”. The album was recorded and mixed in just 2 weeks.
January, 1973 - Columbia releases the first album "Aerosmith"
June, 1973 - Dream On/Sombody released as single
March, 1974 - "Get Your Wings" released with "Same Old Song And Dance" as a single
September, 1974 - "Train Kept A Rollin" released as a single from "Get Your Wings".
Early '75 - "Get Your Wings" goes Gold
April, 1975 - "Toys in the Attic" recorded and breaks The Top 20
May, 1976 - “Rocks” is released and immediately goes platinum.
1977 – October, "Draw The Line" is released and goes Platinum in December.
1978 – Live Bootleg is released.
1979 – "Night In The Ruts" is released. Joe begins "The Joe Perry Project".
