Two greats of the underground progressive house scene Rob Green and Nick Hook wanted to go back to their earliest roots…
DJ/producer Nick Hook has produced countless records and remixed barrels of artists for labels such as Whoop!, Distinctive, FFRR, React and Phonetic.
Rob Green started musical life as one half of Brutal Deluxe with Barry Ashworth (The Dub Pistols) and later had several solo projects including Shango on Jackpot records and remixed for the likes of Robbie Williams and Chakra with remix partner Danny Howells.
Having made a stonking tune together back in 1999 as Hook vs Shango, time drew them apart until the discovery, in 2005, that they had the same hair dresser! The rest is history.
They wanted to go back to styles that turned them on before progressive house in a more funky and soulful style. Influenced by the likes of Kevin Saunderson and Joey Negro, The Casey Jones Effect was born.
Since their renewed partnership they have gone on to produce a massive vocal sweat-maker of a track entitled 'Electrify Me' featuring the vocal talents of Sharon dB, which is out now on White Label Recordings (Baroque).
