Lambergrass was formed in early 2006, originating from the idea of some friends in the Milano area, wich loved and attended Bluegrass jam sessions. They decided to try and form a bluegrass band.
The name comes from the name of a river, the Lambro, wich flows nearby Milan, and from the word Bluegrass.
The group is composed of 7 people, and two of them are very good singers.
Their repertoire ranges from traditional songs from the pioneers of bluegrass (Bill Monroe, Flatt & Scruggs, Stanley Brothers, Osborne Brothers...) to contemporary bluegrass songs from legendary bands like Hot Rize and Blue Highway, but also Rhonda Vincent, Alison Krauss and others artists.
Lambergrass has played in various important events; in particular has been invited in 2006 and 2007 to the Thun's Bluegrass Festival (Switzerland) , where they have played important groups. The band has played also at the Grabenmuhle Bluegrass Festival (Switzerland 2008 and 2009), Notte Bianca Locarno (2009 - Switzerland) and Malpensa Horses Exibithion (Italy 2008 and 2009), Arcore Street Festival and Ferrara Buskers Festival ( 2010 Italy) and Munich Bluegrass Festival (2010 - Germany).
The band have recorded the first CD "On The River" with 11 of their favourite bluegrass tunes. They decided to record the CD in a “Live†setting, all gathered around the mikes, to capture the sound and energy of their live performances.
They put on a mighty fine show, with lots of fun and great bluegrass music, you’re sure to enjoy.
