Massimo Tore
his interests are into jazz, classical and baroque music, improvised contemporary music.
Born in 1958, he practiced music since he was very young. He studied piano, guitar, acoustic and electric bass. At the age of 12 he had his first gigs playing electric bass with some cover bands.
He started to play double bass at 20 as a self-teaching jazz musician, then his range expanded to take the most of classical music, from baroque to contemporary music, and he took a degree in double bass at the national Conservatory of music in Cagliari, Italy.
He played with many jazz musicians, such as Ferra brothers (Massimo and Bebo), Paolo Fresu, Billy Sechi, Umberto Fiorentino, Lester Bowie, Mike Mainieri, Peter Waters, Ralph Alessi, Flavio Boltro, Scott Hall, Chris Speed, Bill Saxton, Claudio Fasoli, Maurizio Giammarco, Massimo Urbani, Stefano D'Anna, Carol Welsman, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Maria Pia De Vito, and others.
As a classical musician, he played for more than 25 years in professional symphonic and opera orchestras. He has been a regular member of the Orchestre des Champs Elysées since 1997 to present, he played also with some well-known baroque ensemble as "Les Arts Florissants" and others, like "Auser Musici", Accademia del '700.
