Profile GeneratorW. Pa Jurisdiction #1 Official Sunday - 59th Holy Convocation - August 2008Bishop Foster was born July 8, 1930, in Ansley, Alabama. The oldest son of the late Lewis and Lula Mae Foster. He served in the 24th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army.
In 1959, he accepted Christ as his personal Lord and Savior, also during this time, God gave him a great miracle and healing from a severe ulcer condition while simultaneously baptizing him in the “Holy Ghostâ€. As a young man he actively participated in various church-based
ministries. Bishop Foster did not immediately acknowledge his call to the ministry but always knew for certain that God’s hand was upon his life.
He has a passion for prayer, consecration, fasting, and a total commitment to Holiness as way of life. In his early years, by the leading of God; he moved from Alabama to Southwestern Pennsylvania. He has resided in
the city of Clairton, Pennsylvania for many years. Prior to finally acknowledging his call to the ministry, he served in various capacities at the Gethsemane Church of God in Christ in Clairton, Pennsylvania. He preached his initial message in 1962, nearly 3 years after being saved and filled with the Holy Ghost. His personal friend, mentor, and Pastor who helped guide his early years in the ministry, was, the late General Board Member, Bishop Ithiel Clemmons. He recommended that Bishop Foster serve as Assistant Pastor under Superintendent Alexander McLean while still at the Gethsemane COGIC. He was later ordained and appointed Pastor of Trinity Church of God in Christ, McKeesport, Pennsylvania by the late Bishop Gordon E. Vaughn. This was following the deaths of Elder James W. Brown, whom he had served with at Gethsemane COGIC and Elder T.W. Hines under whom he served as Assistant Pastor at Trinity COGIC.
He is a visionary, leader, a builder, a preacher’s Pastor, a man of great devotion, and quiet strength. He has a reputation of being a man of great integrity and character. His local church, Trinity COGIC is known as a “preachers factoryâ€, birthing many Ministers, Elders, and producing six (6) Pastors under his pastorate. Many other ministries have been founded under his ministry.
In October 2005, he married Sister Martha Butler. In the Bishop’s words according to the Word of God and his theme for 2006, “Count it All Joyâ€
