Originally from Colombia, S.A., and raised in New York from the age of one. Growing up in such a melting pot of cultures exposed me to a variety of musical styles including, of course, American Pop and Jazz, as well as various types of ethnic Latin music.I began playing a homemade “marimbula†bass (“box bass†used in early Afro-Cuban and Dominican music) at the age of eight. I studied music at Miami-Dade Community College, University of Miami, and Florida International University where I received a Bachelor’s in Music.In addition to teaching for 10 yeras (1991-2001)at Miami-Dade Community College Music Department, I've recorded and/or performed throughout the world accompanying artists in various genres, including: Celia Cruz, Andy Montanez, Pete “El Conde†Rodriguez, Ismael Miranda, Frankie Ruiz, Cheo Feliciano, Willy Chirino, Hansel Y Raul, Roberto, Torres in the Latin circuit; Nestor Torres, Dave Valentin, Mongo Santamaria, Giovanni Hidalgo, Patato Valdez, Ira Sullivan, Arturo Sandoval, Luis Salinas, Othello Molineaux, and Roberto Perera in Jazz and Latin Jazz; and Selena, Barrio Boys, Gloria Estefan, Jose Luis Rodriguez, Raphael, Braulio, Miriam Hernandez, Lolita, Maria Marta Serra Lima, Libertad Lamarque, Jorge Porcel, Alvaro Torres, Camilo Sesto, Maggie Carles, Raul Di Blasio, Manoela Torres, James Brown, Gloria Gaynor, Emmanuel, and Ricardo Cocciante among many others in the Pop and Latin Pop Idiom.I have co-authored two instructional books entitled: Afro-Cuban Bass Grooves and Afro-Cuban Keyboard Grooves (Warner Bros.) in addition to the published transcription for “Cachao Masterpiece Vol. I†– Israel Lopez “Cachao†(Warner Bros.). I currently freelance as a side musician throughout South Florida.In 2000 I started my own a mortgage company (E*Home Loans), and real estate company (E*Home Realty) in adddtion to starting a title company in 2004 (Title Insurance Agency of America). I mainly dedicate my work to the lending industry and have recently added E*Commercial Loans as an expansion to my lending practices.I consider myself esoteric in nature and look forward to the expansion of my knowledge, soul and consciousness on a daily basis as well as the expansion of others on the rest of the planet...
