Cleaning my brain

About Me

I'm an artist, which means that at some point in my life my brain blew a circuit/went hay-wire in certain areas and caused certain subconscious functions used for attracting mates to be directed toward strange and colorful activities, set to a theoretically endless loop. And I make things.
Aside from an education, I'm currently working personal projects that may or may not result in presentable goodness, including an animated short tentatively titled Project Everyday, scheduled to be released sometime between now and the heat death of the universe (it has its own profile now! with nothing on it .) I also intend to work on other things when the appropriate inspiration is found, so who knows what that may yield!
I also have a website called SQUIDSTATION.COM . although I haven't updated it since back when the internet was run on paper cups connected by string, due to a lack of productivity on the digital front. I have a bunch of silly/stupid cartoons I've done up there - as well as on Newgrounds - so check 'em out sometime. Make sure you have the latest version of the Macromedia Flash Player plugin to view the cartoons correctly though, which is downloadable for free off of the Macromedia website... or maybe Adobe's website now, I'm not sure and I don't care to check.

My Interests

Animation and Cartoonery, Art, Drawing, Painting, Video Games (especially Nintendo), Contemporary Music, Surrealism, Absurdist Humor (or perhaps the absurd in general), Comic Books and Super Hero Stuff, and other various geeky things.

I'd like to meet:

You're very much welcome to add me if I've ever met you before, or if you have connections somehow and would like to meet me sometime in the future.

Music:

The Talking Heads, The White Stripes, Modest Mouse, The Flaming Lips, The Clash, The Cure, The Arcade Fire, Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake, Handsome Furs, TV On The Radio, The Hives, Franz Ferdinand, Devo, The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Futureheads, The Beach Boys, The Beatles, Coldplay, The Ramones, The Raconteurs, The Starlight Mints, Pink Floyd, Queen, The Doors, Gnarls Barkley, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, James Brown, Gorillaz , Outkast, Nine Inch Nails, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah, Spoon, Band of Horses, Beck, Built to Spill, The Rapture, Menomena, Islands, The Knife, Man Man, Animal Collective, Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, Yeasayer

If you have the time, why not check out my good friend Robot Lincoln 's profile and groove to his madly awesometastic jam. Just don't provoke him into going Gettysburg on your ass.

Movies:

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Science of Sleep, Be Kind Rewind, Spirited Away, Howl's Moving Castle, Princess Mononoke (the English dub sucks, though...), Spiderman 2, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Batman Begins, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill, Batman (1966), those two Bill & Ted movies, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Stop Making Sense, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich, Rear Window, Vertigo, Psycho, Wild Strawberries, Mulholland Dr., Inland Empire, Blue Velvet, Waking Life, Punch Drunk Love, Boondock Saints, Sin City, Little Miss Sunshine, Stranger Than Fiction, Juno, Pan's Labyrinth, No Country For Old Men, Citizen Kane, The Big Sleep, Dog Day Afternoon, There Will Be Blood, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazahkstan, Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, A Night At The Opera, Zoolander, Peewee's Big Adventure, Ratatouille, The Incredibles, Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (all of those Wallace & Gromits are great.)

Television:

I had a whole list of things before, but it made me look like I watch a whole lot more TV than i actually do. I don't watch an awful lot these days; pretty much just Heroes and a few cartoons, for the most part.

Books:

The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Stranger, Gulliver's Travels, Don Quixote, Watership Down, A Clockwork Orange, Watchmen, V For Vendetta, Blankets, just about any books on animation and such

Heroes:

The artists who help make the world a place worth living in (or around, for all you space people who may feel left out.)
And I mean artists in a more liberal sense, so writers, musicians, architechs, etc. are all included.
