About the band
Feeling, truth, honesty and integrity. These are the cornerstones of good music and are the bedrock upon which The Candor base their performance. The Candor are a power trio from Liverpool. They were formed in February 2007 when drummer Mal James (The Herbs, Big Wheels, Helsinki) answered an advert in Curly's for a drummer that sounded like a cross between Keith Moon, John Bonham and Ringo Star. The advert had been put there by Andrew Wilson, the band's guitar playing songwriter and lead singer. He had been playing the solo, acoustic circuit but always felt his songs needed a band to really bring them alive.
Meeting with new bass player Mick Hudson at Liverpool's famous Crash studios for the first time the trio gelled immediately. All shared a love of 60's music and an uncanny understanding for how the rhythm of the songs should sound. Mal was as good as his word and could play like Bonham, Moon or Star, or all three of them playing at once! This meant they were tight, right from the start, and produced a comprehensive soundscape without diluting the raw energy of the power trio.
In a world where lies are cheap, the truth's inconvenient and everyone's for sale, we all need a little more Candor.
