Easy All, the download goes like this... I started MCing at 16 and throughout my teens I grew up around the sound system culture of London. I've been heavily influenced by reggae/ragga/jungle/breaks to name a few genres. When starting out I used to write poems, this was a therapeutic pleasure, over the years these words have developed into songs. Lyrical content of modern music has a direct influence on youth culture, I feel a duty as an artist to deliver my personal experience of real life in a positive but realistic way. I would like to show people that dance music can be used in a constructive way, as I feel the media plays a role in giving this type of music bad press, I would like to show that it's not just used in drug culture, you can be expressive with it as an art form in its own right. I work with youths in a London hostel and many of these are MC's, I like to try and give artistic insight into social issues within the youth community, helping them to use lyrics productively through music to resolve these problems and raise awareness rather than regurgitating negative views and thus adding fuel to the fire.
