Mark Feil is a singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from the New York area currently residing in sunny South Florida. Having spent his formative years on a steady diet of the music of the sixties and seventies Mark soon began creating music of his own while allowing the influence of such greats as The Beatles, Pink Floyd and The Doors to shine through in a subtle way. While these influences are evident at times, they never overpower Mark’s own musical vision. His warm, baritone voice is reminiscent at times of Jim Morrison, and is equally at home on declarations of love and longing, sketches of lives on the edge, or the search for transcendence.
For his debut release entitled “A Thousand Suns,†Mark enlisted the talent and creativity of Phil Varone (Saigon Kick, Skid Row) on Drums, and Scott Migone (Gypsy Queen, Jesse Strange, Millie Jackson) on Guitar. Mark sang all the vocals and played all the bass tracks, keyboards, a bit of guitar, percussion and strings. The entire album was mixed by Steve Gordon, who has worked with artists ranging from Betty Wright to Bon Jovi to Joss Stone. "Many of my favorite albums take the listener on a trip from song to song. It was my goal to create such an album... an album in which the songs have a life of their own rather than being slave to any particular style." Staying true to his roots, Mark has produced an eclectic collection of songs reflecting the fusion of his musical influences and vision.
