About Me

Gözde Demirelli was born on the 29th of December, 1977, in Istanbul, Turkey. She has been singing and listening to various music types such as Classical, Rock, Pop and R&B ever since childhood. She was in choirs and the school orchestra in Kalamis High School, Istanbul. When she was a student at Bogazici University, she joined the Rock and the Jazz Choirs and had many performances as a soloist and vocalist in certain groups as well. After graduation, she became a good listener of Jazz. Two years ago she started taking Jazz vocal lessons from Randy Esen and lessons on breathing techniques from Tulay Uyar. She has been a student of Sibel Kose since September 2006. She attended the Ismet Siral Creative Music Studio (ISCMS) workshop at Bogazici University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2006, the 3rd National Vocal Contest at Nardis Jazz Club, Istanbul, Turkey and the 37th International Jazz Workshop at Dom Chemika, Pulawy, Poland in 2007. She had the chance to work with various talented musicians during her quest of music: Cagri Sertel, Emre Gunaydin, Bilal Karaman, Selcuk Karaman, Genco Ari, Uraz Kivaner, Baki Duyarlar, Baran Say, Ekin Cengizkan, Tolga Bedir, Berke Ozgumus, Altay Donmez, Kursat Deniz, Deniz Beydili, Ozgur Salici, Derin Bayhan, Cem Aksel, Caner Kaptan, Burak Bedikyan, Janusz Szrom, Bogdan Holownia, Sebastian Frankiewicz, Mariusz Bogdanowicz, Volkan Topakoglu, Berkant Çelen, Danny Sunshine Lundmark. In 2007, Gozde took part solo at the end of year concerts of Randy Esen and Sibel Kose workshops as well as at a Musical concert at Aksanat. Gozde is a group member of the vocal group "Nuance." The vocal group "Nuance" was formed in 2006. The group consists of four female vocalists: Gozde, Deniz, Demet and Ilke. Nuance first sang "Moon River" A'cappella at a Musical concert at Afife Jale theatre in June 2006 where they received positive feedback from the audience. On Feb. 17th, 2007 they performed "A - Tisket, A - Tasket" with trio and "Moon River" A'cappella at the Ella Fitzgerald Tribute concert made by the great Turkish Jazz vocalist, "Sibel Kose" at Nardis Jazz Club, Istanbul where the audience showed a lot of support and interest in the group. On April 26th, 2007 Nuance had their first gig at Jazz Cafe, Istanbul where the group members had the chance to perform both solo and multi - vocal as well as A'cappella songs. On May 24th, 2007 Nuance had a concert at Nardis Jazz Club, Istanbul where they had the opportunity to be in presence of and to sing with their wonderful Jazz Vocal coaches: "Randy Esen" and "Sibel Kose" as well as the great Turkish pianist: Genco Ari. On May 27th, 2007 the members of Nuance attended the audition of "Young Jazz" section of "14th International Istanbul Jazz Festival" with a classical guitarist friend of theirs: Gokay, under the name of "Nuance+" The group received the highest scores from the Jury members and had the chance to take part in the "14th International Istanbul Jazz Festival" by giving a concert on the 4th of July, 2007 as a fore - group before the "European Jazz" concert of "Sibel Kose" and "Michiel Borstlap" at the French Cultural Center, Istanbul. Recently, Gozde is working on her solo repertoire.
