I am here for Networking

About Me

Well well well…look who decided to show up on my Myspace. Actually…I’m glad you are here. I’m always excited to meet new people…fans…comic book aficionado’s etc…etc..etc… As you may have surmised, my name is Adam David Gragg (pronounce Greg…don’t I have a kickass name?) and this is my little space in the vast social networking that is the internet. Well, as the tab says, “about me” so I guess I should start by talking a little bit about who I am, and what I am about. I’m a professional comic book writer and I LOVE it. Nothing gives me more pleasure then being a part of creating something like a good piece of work. Working as a comic book writer has allowed me to work with some of the most talented artists in the world including Matias Balsa, TaD Lambert, Gregg Paulsen, Azim Akerabali, Malachi Sharlow and many others highly talented pencillers, colorists, inkers and letterers. That’s right, EVERYONE who contributes to a successful comic book is IMMENSELY important. If you work in the industry ALWAYS give props where they are due because my own brilliant abilities would be nothing without each and every amazing person I am so privileged to work with and some whom I have become good friends with. Some of the books I have worked on include SINBAD AND THE MERCHANT OF AGES, and TENTH MUSE 800 which are both part of Bluewater Comics Ray Harryhausen line, STYX AND STONE: SKIN DEEP- my first foray into Supernatural horror…and I had a BLAST writing it. That reminds me of another bit of advice to all you aspiring writers…do NOT be afraid to try writing something you wouldn’t normally WANT to write. You might be surprised at what you find within yourself and realize is another facet of who you are…where was I…OH yes…I’ve also worked on various short stories including THE BARON MUNCHAUSEN AND HIS UNUSSUAL FRIENDS, running in Jason and the Argonauts Issue Four (due out from Bluewater soon) and one of the best up coming books out there PAPARAZZI!- A brand new twist on the classic Superhero drama full of sex, drugs and spandex. My favorite book that I have written and am currently in the process of perfecting is the new Bluewater Manga series, QUEEN OF HEARTS, which is going to rock! You can check out some samples in the pics.ALSO: I was able to obtain a KICK ASS Keyboard rig so now, I am going to start trying to get back into music hardcore. I'm looking to network with musicians in the area and am always up for jamming. Me and my Roland Fantom X8 are waiting to meet youhat was ALL I was about, I would be a god-awful BORING person. That’s not who I am…so lets see, what else is there? As you can see from my pictures, I am big into working out. As I always say. I may BE a comic book professional, but I will be DAMNED if I have to look like one. Now of course, this is not meant to offend some of the great creators out there who are just as brilliant as anyone could ever be…but for GOD sakes people…it would NOT kill you to eat a SALAD while Watching the Simpsons and drawing pictures of Jean Grey or Wonder Woman….YOU know who you are (This is ALSO my way of compensating for the fact that I will never be as amazing as some of the top writers in the industry and believe I must cover up my feelings of literary inadequacy with physical vanity…although even THERE I have a way to go) I used to be big into martial arts and studied Tae Kwan Do for a few years before a knee injury blew that out. I’m hoping I will get back into it, but only if I can find a way of doing it without ending up in a considerable amount of pain. NOT fun. I am also a classically trained pianist, although I haven’t played much in the past two years (save once when my one of my best friends talked me into playing at his Med School variety show…ugh!). I’m also a marginal gamer…meaning I’ll play a little bit of WoW here and there, but not dedicated to my rather boring but genetically gifted brother (hee hee…he knows I love him…and hate him for his perfect abs he does NOTHING to get…grrr)I’ve gone through a lot in the past year, and now I am at a place where I am thinking about starting to get a lot more serious about Bodybuilding than I have in the past. I think in order to do something like that you really have to be in a good place in your life that will allow you to be dedicated and patient with yourself, not to mention a place where you can AFFORD it…Buying all the right food, books and supplements can be a bit of a money game, but I want to try it. I’ve always been fascinated by it (perhaps that’s why I became a comic book pro) but now I wanna really do something with it. With that said, I would love to hook up (and I meant that proverbially so PLEASE don’t take it the wrong way…unless you really want to) with other bodybuilders…natural or otherwise, and discuss training, diet, motivation and ways to keep yourself balanced. Besides, imagine what a coup THAT would be showing up at Comic-Con, one of the hottest writers in the industry…both figuratively AND literally…HA HA HA HA HA (see! There goes my over-compensation again) I used to model back in the day when I was more lean (they don’t like buff guys in any sort of modeling branch except fitness…TRUST ME) and act from time to time. It’s jolly good fun! Not something I could see myself pursuing hardcore as a career, but you never know.I will admit that I am very confident about my abilities. I do have a great many of them, but please don’t take that to mean I am cocky and arrogant for real. Truth is for every skill and trait I am proud of, I have another aspect of myself that I am EXTREMELY insecure about. Seriously, hit me up! I love meeting people! OH! And by the way, you are MORE THAN WELCOME to add me to your friends list, but if you could send a short note too, that would be AWESOME! Look forward to talking to more of you soon!
