I think you are an awesome guy. You're playing ability has exponentially flipped over and over itself in just the couple of years that I've known you. You've got natural abilities to absorb ideas and use them in your own way. You can write any song you want to any way you want. Don't wait for any preconcieved "prerequisite" understandings of theory you might think you require to write good music. Of course it's great to have, but why hold yourself back? You know how many people still can't write a single decent song after having studied someone else's definition of what sounds good? You write and you teach yourself. That's how you do it and get the most out of it. You listen and you digest and absorb. You know that there is music out there with something to learned from.
