About Me
Update: I am now living in London, and will be able to have more life-pondering moments in Europe...I was in a bar in Dubrovnik 2 years ago this fall, pondering how life led up to that moment. It began like this:
Born and raised in San Francisco, I was glued to the TV watching the moon landings as a kid. Inspired, I built all sorts of spaceships with Lego, and turned out I could draw them pretty well too. Drew all sorts of things, everywhere (my folks did not appreciate my carving etchings into the living room walls, however). After growing up in the fog zone, headed to Arizona for college, and the chance to see the sun in December. Got an engineering degree, then worked in Japan for a couple of years--that got my travellust juiced, and checked out Australia, Thailand, Singapore, and Hong Kong. Once in the US, kept doodling and sketching as I did the engineer thing in Ohio. I realized that wasn't the life for me, so I decide to see what potential I had as a doodler, er, artist. Quit my job, and returned to SF for art school. Afterwards, I worked for a 3-D software company that sent me all around the world, from London to the Bay. Eventually, I got a job in visual effects for movies--I love a job where the imaginary comes to life, and I can wear T-shirts and shorts to work. I hadn't traveled in a while, so once my project ended, I headed to London, then Dubrovnik. One hot afternoon, I walked into this cliffside bar outside the city walls, overlooking the Adriatic. Had an ice-cold pivo, and pondered how life led up to (well, see beginning line)...
