About Me

first off, i don't have a band so i go by my name:mo rose. the 23 is because my name was already taken(by me on my other myspace page) and 23 is the number on my football jersey. i used to(6 or so years ago) work(and play)well w/others... then i found myself alone w/a guitar or 3 and pen and paper...and... voila.... 'solo-artist' ...except for the rare, and truly fine times i play w/my nephew, adrian, on drums. no bass. although, i have played bass on and off in many bands in portland,or and albuquerque,nm. so i try to keep as much of a low end in my finger pickin' style on guitar as i can. i do not fit into the 'scene' here in DON'T BOTHER,WI. what scene? you may ask... original music here is scarce... and pretty good original music, even scarcer. i only have one cd, but i have songs enough for 3 or 4 more...stay tuned but don't hold your breath til you turn blue.

Band Members: ...what part of 'solo artist' don't you understand? probably the 'artist' part, huh?
Influences: so many that i had to stop listening to them for quite a while or i would have ended up so eclectic...that i would've locked up w/ option paralysis. but i guess if i had to blame anyone for what i've become---it would be those who most directly affected me w/ the way they play(ed) and/or wr(i/o)te: jim seiler, jorma kaukonen, leo kottke, keith richards, bob dylan, skip spence, iggy pop, steely dan, pat mAcdonald, curt kirkwood, reverend al davis, skip james, warren zevon, steve earle, william s. burroughs, hunter s. thompson, frank zappa and jimi hendrix. i couldn't get within spittin' distance of some of these fuckers...some i could. however, whatever little bits did rub off would definitely count them as influences. i know there are more, but this is already...too long a list. for the longer list go to my other myspace site
Sounds Like: some of my influences... held me hostage in my bedroom at gunpoint until i came up with some songs...for good or ill, they let me live to write some more. though it smacks of the "stockholm syndrome", i thank them.
