I am here for Friends

About Me

First and foremost, I'm a Christian devoted to Jesus. Secondly, I'm a husband married to a wonderful woman and I'm the father of two great children. Finally, I'm an insatiable searcher for understanding.Frankly, I'm pretty much your 80's style geek (maybe I'm just a 'geek' in general who grew up primarily in the 80's and who identifies with that era of geekdom). Whatever type of geek I am, I am.I love life, I love people, and I love being a pastor, a husband, a father, and a friend.I don't like people who aren't sincere. Even if someone is sincerely wrong I prefer them over those who simply don't care.

My Interests

Bible, apologetics, science, nutrition, guitar, people, too many to list.

I'd like to meet:

Jesus (and one day I will). C.S. Lewis is one of the men I'd like to meet and talk with -- along with Darwin. D. James Kennedy is someone I'd like to meet. If I could have an open and honest conversation with them I'd like to meet President Bush Jr. and Senator Edward Kennedy. Finally, I'd like to meet my wife's mother -- she passed away when Dawn was only 14.

Music:

A little of just about everything, less of hip-hop, opera, and jazz and more of Christian, 80's Rock, country, blues, and bluegrass. The Dr. Demento show.

Movies:

Superman (all), Terminator (all), the Notebook, Zots, Anything with Elvis or Jerry Lewis (especially those with Dean Martin), Transporter, Close Encounter, E.T., Pretty Woman, X-Men I & II, whew -- too many to list.

Television:

Star Trek, Stargate, King of Queens, M.A.S.H., Gilligan's Island, Smallville, Eureka, Frazier, Friends

Books:

Bible, Sword of Shanara, Almost anything by Asimov, Harry Potter, Anything by James Dobson, C.S. Lewis, and Dr. James Kennedy, Red Dwarf, Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, Dirk Gently's Wholistic Detective Agency, the list goes on and on.

Heroes:

My Mom. Christian martyrs everywhere through all time. The men and women who have fought for my ability to stay a free U.S. citizen.

Dark Materials triology and Donna Frietas

As a protestant I don't often find myself standing side-by-side a died in the wool Catholic writer but, in this case, what the author has to say about Donna Freitas' assessment of 'The Golden Compass'...

Relient K & Switchfoot - Understandably Misunderstood

Hi, My son recently began listening to Relient K and Switchfoot so I did too (he's 8 and I'm 42). Having grown-up in the 70's and 80's (and not giving my life to Christ until I was 21), I am well-vers...
