The Colorado Underground online metal series started out as a simple idea to film a few bands around town and interview them about their experiences. After compiling footage over a six month period I completed what became episode I of The Colorado Underground. The project soon began to gain momentum when Bands 4 Bands Entertainment hit the scene, and offered to collaborate with the Colorado Underground Online series. We are now able to film some of the bigger events in town thanks to Bands 4 Bands Entertainment. We now have a small section next to the sound board at the Gothic, which we hope to turn into a little interviewing section for bands and fans.
A little info about me the film maker: Rodney W
I’ve been a film maker for a little over 2 years now, and I’ve been a musician for over 15 years. My main passion in film is in the horror genre, and you can check out some of my work at www.vampiremistresstv.com
I’m totally independent, and consider myself an amateur film maker. My documentaries tend to be a bit on the experimental side, and I can only describe my style as my own. I do look up to directors like Alfred Hitchcock, Martin Scorsese, Spike Lee, & Akira Kurosawa. I also have a slight obsession with the stories of Rod Serling and the Twilight Zone series in general. My series “Vampire Mistress†is currently under contract with “Spys in the Nite Productions Incâ€, and I hope to have the same success with the Colorado Underground Project.
I’m in the metal band “Distant Haven†(Formerly Lament), who has shared the stage with a number of the bands featured in the online series. The Colorado Underground Project hopes to create some buzz around a lot of these great bands, and bring more attention to the scene in general
