BIG UP TO THE HENDERSON FAMILY EVERYWHERE... SOMEHOW IN MY TEENS THE URGE GREW STRONGER AFTER LISTENING TO AVRIL AND ALLEN HENDERSON ON THE GUITAR, MIDNITE GROOVERS, BLACK MACHINE, EXILE ONE, BELLES COMBO,etc. SO IN JUNE 1978 WE FORMED YOUNG SOUTH BROTHERS. I COULDNT TAKE THE FUSS SO I MOVED OUT AND IN DECEMBER 1978 CAPTAIN, BLOOD, APAP, ZEPHO, TEHILL AND MYSELF FORMED REBELS.WICKED AND WILD...TOUGH AND VIBRANT. IN A COUPLE MONTHS WE WERE BECOMING A FORCE TO RECKON WITH BUT IT ALL ENDED WHEN HURRICANE DAVID HIT D.A HARD IN 1979 DESTROYING OUR INSTRUMENTS AND LEAVING US WITHOUT ELECTRICITY FOR ALMOST A YEAR. THEN WE FORMED JAZZ EXPRESSIONS BUT WITHOUT GEARS IT WAS TOUGH IN THE GHETTO. I ONCE PLAYED ALOT OF BASKETBALL BACK HOME BUT AFTER MOVING TO LONDON IN 1984 MUSIC TOOK PRIORITY. FOR A WHILE THERE I PLAYED WITH KALABASH AND WE TOURED PARTS OF EUROPE VISITING DENMARK, BELGIUM AND SWEDEN. BACKED UP DELROY WILSON. RECORDED A REGGAE SINGLE 'SAID I' WITH THE BAND BUT THE VIBES GOT COLD WHEN THE COMPOSER AND ARRANGER DIDNT GET HIS DUES SO I MOVED ON. RECORDING SESSIONS WITH PETE CAMBELL, TONY D AND A FEW OTHER LONDON BASED ARTISTS. LIVE SESSIONS WITH CARIBBEAN EXPRESS, PAUL SHERRI, THEN FORMED DA-UK CONNECTION.. IT HAD POTENTIAL.. PLAYING AT PLACES LIKE BASE CLEF ONE OF THE TOP JAZZ CLUBS IN EAST LONDON.. SHENOLAS.. HACKNEY DOWNS FEST.. WHITE HART LANE FEST...BRADFORD ...PRESTON AND MANY MORE VENUES IN THE U.K. BUT IT ALL WENT DOWN WHEN UNSUPPORTED SUPER STARS COULD NOT MAKE THE COMMITMENT THAT IT TAKES..I MOVED ON TO NOUVEAU..BAD ATTITUDE..TRIED RECORDING AND DID A HOT CADENCE TRACK LAVE' DANCE'..ROCKED THE HOUSE TIME AND TIME AGAIN.. UNCOMMITTED WAS THE DOWNFALL. SO I MOVED OVER TO FLORIDA AND HERE WITH IMPULSE WORKING IT OUT. OPENING FOR STEEL PULSE AT THE HOUSE OF BLUES IN ORLANDO. THEN THIRLD WORLD IN BRADENTON. TOOTS AND THE MAYTALS AT SKIPPERS..GREGORY ISSAC AND MARCIA GRIFFITHS AT JANNUS LANDING ST PETE... STEADFAST...RESPECT... FOUR CDS,STUDIO AND GEARS MADE IT WORTH THE WHILE...MORE TO COME...
