About Me

Glorydog is no longer together. They were a high energy, all original, alternative rock band. The sound was a unique combination of influences from the White Stripes to Incubus to Smashing Pumpkins to Audioslave all shaken up and turned around by a powerful, female lead singer, Shanta. It’s hard to believe her 100 lb. frame could pack such a punch. Tom Carl pulled out guitar riffs that are intriguing to the musician’s ear and yet still so catchy that the average listener would walk away wanting more. Tim Cann brought a funky sublime-like bass effect to add more “hip”ness to the songs and was often hailed by other, more senior, bass players as very creative. Steve Leighton supplied the interesting beats that added another level of complexity and uniqueness to their songs. They came together to bring a fun and intense “big arena style” show that engaged the audience and has warranted standing ovations. The band members have all moved on to play on different projects. You can hear shanta and Tom Carl at www.myspace.com/shantasong to hear their new work.
