Seazon of the Fly
Seazon of the Fly smashes expectations with its invigorating fusion of diverse styles. The band crafts startling compositions, welded together from a variety of influences, merged together so tightly the seams don't show. The band prides itself on its unapologetic originality and energetic songwriting and performance style.
Extreme Differences
Frequently, the band's sound is rooted in the convergence of opposites. “We try to be two bands with extreme differences,” says one member, explaining that the group almost seems to be the controlled collision of two different musical entities – much like the peanut butter and chocolate mixings of certain now-famous candy commercials. “One side is 'rockoustic,'” declares Seazon of the Fly. “The other side is 'The Junt' – hard, edgy and abrasive. We try to keep it 50/50. In one word, ROCK.”
Energies
The distinct energies find surprising common ground when brought together with the artistic explorations of Seazon of the Fly. The band says that its unique style is a direct response to the mass jostling of styles all over the airwaves. “Country music makes us angry. Pop music makes us sad. Rap music makes us bob our heads. Classical music makes us go to sleep. Metal makes us what we are today – cynical and discontent with society. But music in general is what inspires us to get out of bed every morning.”
Music and Life
An ages-old saying declares that interesting times are a curse. If so, it is a curse embraced by Seazon of the Fly. For this band, music and life feed off of each other in a thriving symbiosis. Life provides the inspiration and ideas with which to write songs and gives artists the passion for performing them. In return, music spices up life. Or, as Seazon of the Fly puts it, “Music keeps life interesting and life keeps music interesting.”
The Artist at Work
Seazon of the Fly conquered round three of the Emergenza festival, making it to lofty realms in the contest. The group was greeted by buses of fans who came to show support in person during every round of performances. “We cleaned bars out of all their alcohol,” a band member recalls. “We couldn't hear our own music on stage because of how loud our fans were and how excited and competitive they had become.” In addition, the group has opened for Buck Cherry and Seven Mary Three. And besides just writing and performing music, the band is engaged in making its own videos. The band's new CD is slated for an early 2008 release. It will be entitled “The Garden” and is planned as a double disc, with one CD being “Rockoustic,” the other, “The Junt.” Touring is also in the works for 2008. Seazon of the Fly is currently working with A&R Select, the leading indie A&R firm in Hollywood, CA.
“Holy crap! Who would ever have thought such an unholy alliance of styles would work. But thanks to Seazon's talent, it does!” - A&R Select
