About Me

I’ll try to make this short and sweet. Born 1964 in El Paso, Texas, a place I’ve never had much love for. Mom and dad split up early in my life, so I’m pretty much a product of a broken marriage. Mom joined the U.S. State Department when i was 5 and I spent most of my childhood growing up in South America. I did’nt move back to the U.S. till I was 15, then I lived with my dad, which did’nt work out so well. Moved to Southern California when I was 17, started working in motorcycle shops to figure out how to get into roadracing. I first started riding motorcycles when I was 10, but for as long as I can remember it’s all I’ve ever dreamed about. I was visiting my dad for the summer and conned him into buying me a used dirtbike, I basically taught myself how to ride it. I only rode it for a few months and then the next time I would ride again was when I was 15. I think it was until I was in my mid 20’s before I owned a car, I used to ride my streetbike every single day. Now I’ve been racing for about 20 years, and I’m still not ready to give it up. There is really nothing I can think of that matches the feeling I get from racing a Superbike. Last year was difficult, but in the end I was relatively satisfied with most of my results. At times I dug about as deep as I believe I can, but I know there is something still left. I’m still willing to try as hard as I can and willing to pay whatever price there is to pay. Last year I had all these grandiose plans to document all of my races and video some of them, but in the end sometimes it was all I could do to make it to the race on time. Between teaching for Pridmore’s Starschool and racing all the Superbike races I’m pretty strung out. The reality is, I really don’t know any other way to live. Soon the 07’AMA Superbike season will start and I will begin punishing myself again, but I still look forward to it. I still plan to write some blogs about the races, but time will tell, like they say “ the road to hell is paved with good intentions.”
