This is the Spartan Method site! Kevin Olsen a singer songwriter from NY was approached by Ryan Little a unique percussionist from Charlotte who wanted to get involved with him in part do to his large foundation of interesting and unusual music. With the edition of Keyboardist Pat Silver and Guitarist Zack Morris they were quickly pumping an exhilarating sound into Olsen's material & now with Little's unorthodox & primitive style on drums it was exciting to say the least. Unfortunately it was Olsen's constant vocal experimentation and relentless pace that eventually led to the break up of Spartan Method. Olsen & Little continued to seek musicians who were equally experimental musically with no success, during this time period Olsen lived in the studio writing music and produced most of the tracks that you will hear contributed to Spartan Method. All of them with Olsen's (beautiful-ugly) trademark sound & equally unique with his vocal layering that may either produce a twitch or a chill from you but none the less emotion is produced which was his ultimate goal. One day in the studio Olsen & Little ran across a hip hop artist by the name of Glen Abernathy who was eager to work with them. While initially they were skeptical of this not do to the genre of music, for Spartan Method clearly always had elements of hip hop, but more for the lack of a serious sound in Glen's music. It is this reason alone that made the chemistry between them amazing & explosive. You take the smooth playful rapping of Abernathy along with Olsen's sexy & determined vocals add Little's offset percussion & you have the Sound Carnival. Left raw and unfinished as with most of Spartan Method's tracks you hear it as it was the night they developed it. This was the last track produced from Spartan Method as things came to an end immediately following. In such a short amount of time Spartan Method had gained the interest from some of the most respected individuals in the music industry, all they needed to do was get off the ground. Ryan Little being continuously sought after by other musicians for his unique skills quit Spartan Method & turned his dedication to the band "From Ashes" for whom he plays for now. Olsen has been seen amongst migrating herds of reindeer in certain areas of Mongolia and Northern China!
