I have been a fan of music all my life. I cannot live without it. It permeates my very being. I took some band in high school on a wind instrument but always watched the guitarists work their magic! In 2003 I decided that it was time I learned this beautiful instrument. I took a couple of lessons early on, but much to my dismay, I couldn't feel it playing tunes like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" or "Mary Had A Little Lamb" Just couldn't get into it! So I went on my own and still had difficulties. I hooked up with an awesome musician, but we seemed to spend more time listening to his work than me learning. Don't get me wrong, he tought me enough to keep me interested but I also wasn't able to devote as much time as needed to further my chops! My fault really. I haven't found a teacher that I like yet and I know I need too badly. They say "When a student is ready, a teacher will find his student" Maybe I'm not ready yet? I don't know. I am still learning on my own but my time is limited and life keeps getting in the way for me to learn more. I will keep plugging away at this endeavour for the rest of my life. I feel the music swelling inside me to the point of bursting through, but I am not ready for it yet. One day! This by the way will be the title of my first CD. "One Day!"
