On The Trois

About Me

Having started as a four-piece in the fall of 2006 with the ambition to play other bands’ good songs, drink beer and hang out in the cozy basement of a closed abbatoir, On the Trois soon evolved to become a three-piece throbbing tornado, starting to create their own work. The aim was to make minimalistic eidni rock, to make music suitable for their own format; however, this soon turned out be impossible as the songs took on a life of their own and started to grow in a cauchemardesque manner. Out of this what we today know as the band's epic classics was spawned.
The question as to whether they were going to make it or not never posed a problem to the three, as their goal has always been to make music that appeals to their own ears. After years of turmoil and sweating blood onto paper in order to accomplish these things, a breakthrough came in the spring of 2009, when they finally met their now legendary producer, who took the three under his wings.
The band started to mobilize all forces available, sucking up the energy depots of their every cell, and set a date for recording with this remarkable man, who was going to make their biggest dream come true: recording in the outskirts of Copenhagen's roughest areas amongst the hustlers, crooks and prostitutes. The scene was set for an urban masterpiece.
The band and the producer joined hands and dived into the fiery ring that is the heart of eidni rock, everyone determined to show the world that they too could distil their everyday life into a few acid-dripping minutes of rock 'n' roll. After long, sleepless nights at this venue and after having cut the rough stone that came out of this process into a shining crystal, the result was finally to be announced to the public: at last their heart-felt compositions were to be carved into vinyl (or, more precisely, the hard-drive of the producer’s iBook).
It is now my great pleasure to present to you at least one of these songs; it goes by the name “Harajuku” and it is my sincere wish, that it will blow your ears and brains away, as it has mine. Enjoy it with a friend, lover or relative, but make sure to brace yourself; this is gasoline for the fire on the barricades.
