In 1999 J.O. (Mutilation (RIP), Sexual Disfunction)
brought KOREOPSIS to life. The background for
this solo project was his aim to create exactly that
kind of music that he carries around as vision
without any compromise. As a musical allrounder
he was fitted with the necessities to bring in all
instruments on his own and even to program the
drum parts.
In 2001 and the following year J.O. recorded all in
all 4 demo recordings (titles “Dark Extreme
Noises“, “Crust“, “Bonehacker“ and “Kill Kill Kill“) in
his own recording studio. The songs were released
in few numbers and are meanwhile out of stock.
The first MCD was recorded in the Asterion Studio
and released under the name “Guttural Woods“ on
his own. The songs are made with no compromise
and turned out very extreme. They are dominated
by fast riffing and loads of blast parts. The ominous
atmosphere he creates can be considered as
characteristic.
In the following years J.O. created diverse new
tracks introducing new musical influences. The
songs became more and more crazy and technical
but also more varied and gained in complexity. In
summer 2007 he went to Sourmash Studio with his
6 favourite songs and the result is fixed on the
MCD “Resin“ at hand.
The songs on the current record appear with a
fierce combination of modern, brutal Death Metal,
an opulence of breaks, loose jazzy inserts and a
thick atmospheric heavyness. These trimmings
result in a pretty dodgy mini album teeming with
diversion. The mastering was made by Colin Davis
/ Imperial Mastering (Vile, Disgorge, Deeds of
Flesh etc.)
