Deundra Herron and Josh Davis of Montgomery, Alabama founded the rap duo Official in 2006. The local church choir was the first to introduce Deundra and Josh to the music world. As youths, along with the soulful gospel music that they sang and enjoyed, there were many other artists that inspired them. Artists such as TuPac Shakour, Heavy, M.C. Hammer, New Edition, Boyz 2 Men, Keith Sweat, and Gerald Lavert were artist that we listened to almost daily “says Josh Davis, but my mother, Wanda Davis, was the one who influenced us most by having sung in the church choir most of her life. My mother was the one who encouraged us to learn the business aspect of the business adds Herron.
Their first CD, Officially 100% Guaranteed, hit the streets on April 21, 2007, which featured the hard-hitting southern rapping styles of Deundra and Josh along with several other local artists. The CD list three songs, each with a version edited for radio. All three songs, Gone Stunt, We Getting Money, and Apple Bottom were produced by Beat Production Team.Herron and Davis are both members of ASCAP since April 2007 and each has his own publishing company, Stacking Bread Publishing Company and Let'S Get It, Publishing Company. All tracks on Officially 100% Guaranteed have copyrights and were recorded at Real Muzik Recording Studio.
