DJ TREBLE
DJ Treble, born in Barbados raised in Trinidad & Tobago arrived in the United States at the tender age of 8 years old. At the young age of 13, DJ treble started to get into the music aspect of life. He started out by playing on 2 tape decks and then gradually moved into the art of scratching on records. As his skills grew along with his age and knowledge DJ Treble moved into CD Mixing. In 2002 he joined the Medgar Evers College Radio Family. In 2004 DJ Treble teamed up with other DJs to host and finally showcase his skills on a radio show. That radio show was WMEC Radio. In 2007 Treble started his own promotion company from many years of experience in the promotion arena. DJ Treble is currently working with Def Jam Records in the Promotions Department and can be heard on WMEC Radio & 91.5 fm WNYE. Watch out Brooklyn, he's on the way up! 718
718 was born and raised right here in Brooklyn, New York. His love for music came from his dad who always played music back in the day. While his dad played music 718 would pick up the microphone and start saying every and anything that came to his mind.
Fast forward to ’96 = 718 started rapping. He considered himself very skilled behind the mic. He started producing songs around his neighborhood and eventually he built a buzz for beats, and at the time that was his main hobby. Around ‘99 he started to collect a lot of music, both past and present, because he wanted to get into the ins and out of being a DJ. By the time he reached college, in his freshman year he started doing little gigs like barbeques, weddings and parties. Slowly but surely he was building up himself as an up and coming DJ.
718 attended Medgar Evers College, and majored in Radio and Television Broadcasting. He was more interested in radio, being that's where his love was. After interning at the station and helping out where he could, he finally got his own radio show. He quickly had to come up with a name that would represent him. 718 was the perfect name. It told people who he was and where he was from. Through the years he continued to produce music, do talent shows and also on-campus events which kept him occupied. Entertaining people is fun for him, and he continues to do it. So get use to the name 718, because he will be in your area soon!LIBERATION MOVEMENT
Liberation Movement originated in Grenada in the late 80s, early 90s by its owner and promoter Rankin Lee. It is known as one of the main Foundation sounds coming out of Grenada. This sound was based around Foundation, because the owner Rankin Lee always believed that Foundation music would always be around. In the late 90s Liberation came to New York, looking to make its impact in America, since reggae was picking up in the States at that time. The 2 main members of Liberation are TonyGold and Ace. TonyGold was owner, Rankin Lee’s son and Ace was a cousin to the family. These 2 members both wanted to help make Liberation a Great Sound as well as make their sound bigger, better and widely known. Through the years Liberation started doing parties in Brooklyn, Manhattan and in other parts of New York. Liberation has also been on radio stations such as Spice Radio and Caribbean Power and participated in clashes around the States and in Canada. They are mainly known for being a sound but, they are now dealing with producing, editing and recording. Today Liberation is still in New York and Grenada playing music for the young and the old. Let it be known, they are here to stay!VOLCANIC MOVEMENTS
