About Me

Dissatisfunction is a one-person band, it exists solely to express, in musical form, whatever goes through its brain. There are no rules or ideas that it should be marketable, classifiable, or even listenable. It is not a commercial project in any possible sense. The music is mostly instrumental, with occasional vocal sounds/noises. It might be described as a blend of various styles/genres including soundtrack, jazz, pop, industrial, occasional noise/minimalist/atonal/circus music, etc.In terms of compositions, the Dissatisfunction project started in 1994 but at the time there was no name for it, or even the idea of making it public. It was nothing more or less than an outlet for a cathartic process. However, that has not changed at all; the only difference is that it was decided to give it a name and let other people be aware of it. There exists history before 1994 (back to the 70's in fact), but this is not relevant to the Dissatisfunction project. The idea of putting tracks on tape/CD and making them publicly available started in 1999 but this was followed quite soon by a period of disillusionment that lasted several years. Since Dissatisfunction only follows instinct, the project was resurrected only when it felt right to do so.IF YOU WANT TO LISTEN TO DISSATISFUNCTION'S (almost) COMPLETE CATALOG, GO TO: http://www.soundclick.com/dissatisfunction - all the songs are available there

Influences: It's difficult to say what Dissatisfunction's influences might be, not because there are none, but because whatever influences there are or have been, have become distorted in the process of influencing. Some of the names mentioned by listeners as influences/similar include The Residents/John Zorn/Frank Zappa, etc. That doesn't mean Dissatisfunction agrees with this. Perhaps Bacharach (in Dissatisfunction's more melodic and mellow moments) - but more in terms of attitude than style, like industrial, jazz and other genres.
Sounds Like: I have no idea... they said stuff like John Zorn, soundtracks (horror/noir movies), The Residents, Frank Zappa, Mr. Bungle...??
