Let's get started...
I grew up in foster homes never having one place to live for a long period of time. The homes we grew up in were not always kind homes. I am a survivor and know that the Lord has watched over me for many years. This has made me a very strong lady. I do not believe in being the “Victim Roleâ€.
Those of you that have crossed my path if I helped you it did mean that I cared. I wanted to be your stepping stone and not your crutch. I needed you to eventually stand on your own two feet.
I have been a single mother of four wonderful children. These children are my life and my family.
My theme is about “20 Minutesâ€. What is meant by this is life down here is only twenty minutes compared to the eternity that we are going to have in heaven.
I went on a “Woman’s Retreat†one weekend. There was a Mother that testified on this retreat. She told a story about one day when she was driving. She had her 4 year old daughter behind her in a car seat. She accidentally ran a red light one day and was hit by a big truck on the driver’s side. The mother was okay during this accident but when she turned around to look at her daughter she saw her daughter’s glassy and lifeless eyes. She knew at this point that her daughter was gone. She suffered many years’ grief, guilt and a divorce because of this incident. Later on she remarried and had more children. She never understood why this suffering took place but as she goes around testifying about this incident and the rebuilding of her life she knows that God does work in mysterious ways. My favorite part of her testimony is when she walks down her hallway and looks a picture of her daughter that has macaroni pasted around the picture. Her daughter had made her this picture in pre-school. Everyday she taps on the picture and whispers “Honey I will see you in 20 Minutes!â€
Sometimes it’s hard to understand why God lets us suffer. My own understanding that does make sense if you think about it came from an episode of “Little House of the Prairieâ€. It was asked during one of the episodes “If God is so powerful why does he allows suffering?†The way Charles explained it is a follows: God allows us choices. Unfortunately, those of us that choose to do the wrong choices can have an effect at times on those of us that choose to do the right choices. Believe me though there is always a reason for why things happen that will make sense to us eventually later.,
God own Son suffered and died on the cross so that we could be forgiven for our sins.
