IMPORTANT ... THIS IS NOT A MICK JAGGER, ROLLING STONES, OR BOB HARRIS SITE ... This myspace is for the SONG called the "Oldest Rolling Stones Fan"...A song I wrote several years ago about my friend BOB HARRIS - who is the "Oldest Rolling Stones Fan"... Bob Harris (NOTE MR. HARRIS STANDING NEXT KEITH RICHARDS ON THE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PHOTO) met and had his photo taken with the Rolling Stones at a concert in Detroit in 1964. For 40 years he thought how nice it would be to met Keith and Mick again, show them the photo and maybe get it autographed. A quest that is harder then it sounds. Mr Harris in his late 70s managed to get the Detroit Newspaper to do a story on him and his photo. When the Stones where in Detroit for a concert they asked Mr Harris to lunch. Where they reminisced, signed the photo, and proclaimed Mr. Harris must be the Oldest Rolling Stone Fan. Shortly there after Mr. Harris asked the Detroit Rock band Benny and the Jets if a song could be made about his story... Benny and the Jets (see "myspace.com/bennyandthejets also www.bennyandthejets.com) recorded 3 lps in the 70s, toured U.S. and Canada in the 80s, invited to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in the 90s and still perform in the 2000s)... We were very glad to write and record the song for and about Bob Harris... More recently a group of film makers in Paris asked Bob and Benny to be part of a international film project about Rolling Stone Fans... Bob is still alive and well, living in Detroit and currently working on a book about the Detroit Rock Scene of the 60s and 70s which will include his story about THE ROLLING STONES.
