Mauricio Gueiros

Maurício Gueiros is a pianist, acoustic guitar player, arranger and composer. He studied guitar at PROARTE (1976-1977) and piano and interpretation with Wilma Graça (1977–1983) a lady conductor, who after, recommended him to the pianist, Luíz Eça, for complementary studies (1983)Recordings:His first independent album "Aldeia", in a partnership with Fernando Leporace, was released in Parque Catacumba, by the Rioarte Instrumental Project (1987). The second independent album "Apologia", was released in Rio de Janeiro, in the Segredo da Casa (1992) and then the third independent album "Pela Fé", was released in the "Mistura Fina" nightclub, (in February 1997) in conjunction with the singer Iza Eirado, with the special participation of João Donato.Maurício Gueiros, has released (2005) a CD of unpublished songs, with Iza Eirado, called "Novo Amor", that counts with special participation of João Donato.Main Performances:As a pianist, Mauricio accompanied the singers Marianna Leporace (1986), Daúde (1987), the couple Edson Lobo and Tita (2001) and at the keyboards, he accompanied the guitar player Tavynho Bonfá (1992). With the trumpet player, Walmir Andrade, he formed a duo that performed in the Noites Cariocas Bar (1990–1991), and as a trio, with the arrival of the double bass player, Paulo Russo, (who was recently a Grammy nominee), performed in the African Bar (1991), both bars belonging to the entrepreneur Nelson Motta.Sound Tracks:Lately, he has been cooperating with the sound-track of the animated film, As Aventuras de Daya, produced by Inês Lampreia and written (script) by José Louzeiro.
