About Me

Jeff Marder a composer/keyboardist/conductor/synthesizer programmer working in a wide variety of styles, including theatre, film/TV, and Jewish music. He is currently the Associate Conductor of the Los Angeles production of the hit Broadway show "Wicked". He has done synthesizer programming for Disney's new Broadway production "The Little Mermaid" (music by Alan Menken), currently running at the Lunt-Fontaine theatre in NY. Other projects with Alan Menken include the reading of "Leap of Faith", Associate Conductor for "Sister Act" (Pasadena Playhouse), and both Broadway and national tours of "Beauty and the Beast". He has also spent three years as keyboardist on Cirque du Soleil's production "O" in Las Vegas.As a composer, Jeff has provided original music for theatre, film, and TV projects. His music has been heard on ESPN2, in TV commercials, theme parks, NYC theatres, and synagogues throughout the US. He was commissioned to compose a work for Holocaust Remembrance Day for Congregation Beth Haverim in Mahwah, NJ. This work, written for Cantorial soloist, choir, and chamber orchestra, premiered in April of 2004. His original work "Friday Evening Jazz Shabbat Service" has been performed and numerous synagogues throughout the NYC area, and in 2004 he was chosen as one of the winners of the first annual Shalshelet Festival of New Jewish Liturgical Music.Upcoming projects include synthesizer programming for a stage production of the movie "Mask", scheduled for a world premier at the Pasadena Playhouse in March 2008. Music composed by Barry Mann and Cynthia Weil, directed by Richard Maltby.
