Heyday were a band formed by Stephen Harrison (the song writer) in Edinburgh, Scotland, 1984/5. Heyday was one of the bands Ronnie Torrance and David Weddell were in after Josef K. They were in a group with Nick Currie (who later became known as Momus) called The Happy Family prior to Heyday. Stephen had been in Metropak. We played a number of gigs in Edinburgh and had some support from Radio Forth who played tracks on the transistor radio... This site is being maintained by Stephen Harrison who went on and still writes and releases songs http://www.myspace.com/stephenhowardharrison. Robert (Rab) Russell, Heyday guitarist is now writing songs and Bill Ayton, keyboard player, is an Artist and also a guitarist in The Marginal Front, a band in the USA. Digital releases of the Heyday (from Edinburgh) songs are available on iTunes and napster. The album is called 'Edinburgh' and has seven Heyday songs on it. It's interesting to hear what Davie Weddell and Ronnie Torrance did after Josef K. You can feel their presence and hear Ronnie Torrance's characteristic drumming (in particular on Golden). Also, for Stephen Harrison, Heyday was a transition phase from the Metropak days to his later songwriting.. In the vocal, you can see the transitition from a nervous high voice, to deeeper more assured tones. For those interested, Heyday were definetly a thread in the story. ... .. ).......Video 'Johny's Land............... Heyday
