Founded 1993, by James Montaine, Jeff Bowlen, Tim Swanson and Chris Romme. All members of the Gentlemen of Aspen, had a vision that would give them the opportunity to play more rugby and stop commuting 35 minutes from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. James, Jeff, Chris, and Tim now had the knowledge, experience, and the passion to start their own team Defiance Rugby Football Club, which was titled after Glenwood's original name, Fort Defiance.Defiance regularly plays all of the ski towns including Albequerque, Park City, Santa Fe and Bozeman.
