INTRODUCTION
From quarks to the whole universe, space seems to be regulated by certain laws that physicists try to unify in one theory. It's inside these concepts both chaotic and infinitely organized that Fractal Point was born. The idea is to create a rich and interesting music within the Metal genre, while expressing feelings and certain notions of (meta)physics that man has conquered during his existence.
"Fractals" are a mathematical concept which describes a structure which is always coming back but at different scales. The point, which indicates a precise coordinate, represents the band, in its philosophy, regarding the different scales and structures that one can encounter in the cosmos. Being also a mean to dimensional expression as well as cartesian coordinates, the fractal point indicates, in the concept of the band, a scale that only the music can express.

BIOGRAPHY
Born in november 1999 aside a scene essentially influenced by hardcore and its derivatives, Fractal Point members have proved that they were able to perform an intensive music. Distinguishing itself from the other bands from the swiss scene by their vision of Death Metal and their concept, Fractal Point aspires to reach, one day, the excellence of the bands that have and will influence them...
Fractal Point was created by Julien and Guilherme during winter 1999. They worked torgether on their first songs and, around a year later, they asked to André, Carlo, and Olivier (already known on Geneva's metal scene for their work with others bands) to join their forces with Fractal Point.
During april 2002 they recorded their first Mcd called "Analysis of Dimensions" at "The Smelly Room Studios" with Thierry Van Osselt (Knut/Nostromo). This first try received a very enthusiastic response from the public and from the european specialized press. Unfortunately, just before the release of this record, André and Olivier left Fractal Point due to their activities outside the band. (See: loccomotion ).
The project of a new Cd was rising in Guilherme's head, and in sptember 2002, the 3 remaining band members began to work on new material. In november of the same year, Laurent and Antoine integrated Fractal Point and, in summer 2003, they recorded a 4 tracks demo simply called "At the Beginning…" . The demo was sent to various labels and Fractal Point finnaly signed with the French label "DeadSun records".
Meanwhile, they kept perfectionning the new songs and Guilherme began to work on the new album's concept. After performing their new songs in lots of shows, they felt it was time to enter the "Smelly Room Studios" again. In february 2004 Fractal Point recorded a full length Cd: "The Bizarre Machinery of Universe" .
"The Bizarre Machinery of Universe" received lots of excellents reviews. But another bad news struck the band... Because he was not motivated to play in a metal band anymore and was getting busier with his Web design activities, Julien decided to leave Fractal Point. The band made a last show in Geneva for the release of the new album and decided to "standby" their activities. Julien now lives in Finland with his wife and is the father of a little "Toivo"… (see his incredible work here )
All Fractal Point's members had activities that were quite restrictive; everybody works and Guilherme's Math/Physics studies kept him very busy. Antoine and Laurent left the band 2 months after Julien and the 2 remaining band members, namely Guilherme and Carlo, decided to stop (momentarily) their work inside Fractal Point.
Carlo is still working as an building-ingineer and Guilherme is now working on a mathematic Thesis at "L'Université de Genève ". Both want to continue Fractal Point's adventure and will try to find a new drummer to make it possible...
DISCOGRAPHY
::Analysis of DImensions::
The idea of this Mcd is to describe, following a certain (fractal) point of view, different "dimensions" that affect our world.
::At The Beginning::
This Demo was released in the aim to find a deal with a label. We released 100 extra copys to sale in our past shows.
::The Bizarre Machinery of Universe::
The first song, "At the Beginning", is about the creation of our Universe. The following songs try to explain, (meta)physically, the development of the primary energy that creates everything in the known space. It's a mix of fiction and science. We expect it to be understandable to those who try diving in Fractal Point's world... Christophe Godin appears as a "guest star" on "Parallel Worlds". Thanks to him.
