Alexis Vakis was born on the 24th of May 1961 in Athens, Greece. From a very young age he was introduced to music by his mother, who had been taught music by Marios Varvoglis. He was taught harmony, counterpoint, fugue and orchestration by Klelia Fotopoulou and Amarantos Amarantidis, between 1977-1990. He began study in the Economics Division of the Athens Law School, studies that he did not complete. He has been employed as a teacher of music theory, a radio producer, a session musician and has arranged and produced a number of albums.In November of 1999 the first album containing his music was released. This album was titled LEIPOUN OLA KI EINAI EDW (Everything Is Missing, But Still Present), with lyrics by George Athanassopoulos, Manolis Galiatsos, George I. Allamanis, Areti Mpellou, Moyssis Asser and was sung by Georgia Grigoriadou.The soundtrack to the award winning film I HORODIA TOU HARITONA (Chariton’s Choir- 2005) by Nikos Platyrahos contains Vakis’s song “To Xorkiâ€.His instrumental “Prin Apo To Oneiro Mou Fygeis†(“Before My Dream, You Leaveâ€) can be found on the ‘Jazz and Tzaz’ music magazine's Premium CD paying tribute to the famous greek soloist of tuba Yiannis Zouganelis (Issue 164, November 2006).He has composed original music for theatrical productions, independent cinematic films and documentaries made for television:EIRINI (Peace), Aristophanes’s ancient comedy arranged for children by Kakia Igerinou and Nikos Papamiltiadis (1983),
