About Me

BIOGRAPHY
A.R. is a native of Jackson, Tennessee, born Aston R. Hodges on August 1, 1990, unaware of the talented skills. He was into and involved with the work of music at an early age. Growing up in church and family who took action toward music was a start. Raised mostly on the south side of Jackson, he never really had a high interest in music, but had a more focused mind on drawing and arts. A.R. didn't grow up as an average child would during his childhood years. He and his younger brother grew up in the mist of farming with their grandfather in their home in Medon, Tennessee. At around age 9, A.R. started to take a closer view into music. With little neighbors near, he didn't really have friends that were next door. Him and his younger brother spent most of their time and life outside in nature, inside the house listening to music from radio stations, and cassette tapes that he recorded from those radio stations. Constantly playing and listening to various mid-south/southeastern artist, A.R. transitioned into a rapper/MC mind state. Influenced from a lot of Three Six Mafia, Playa Fly, Gangsta Black, Gangsta Boo, Project Pat, a host of Atlanta artist and more from across the southeastern region of the nation, he has a feel for gangsta music. Soon later he and his brother started writing rhymes and raps, and recording them onto cassette tapes, as only something to consume time and as a joke to show off to their cousins for a laugh.. At age 12, when him and his family moved from the south Madison County rural area, to the city limits of Jackson, A.R. stuck to his own ways, and remained the same as a person. At 13, life had to change for a young Jackson teenager, as his grandfather passed April 16, 2003. Only months later, he learned more from the streets. Residing in the west part of Jackson. He was being exposed to much more than he thought he would, but he could only become apart of his surroundings. Music then became a less important matter to him. A.R. was more focus on money and a different lifestyle. As years passed by, he made moves from South Jackson, to West Jackson, to North Jackson, and East Jackson.
Still on top of music, he came together with his younger brother, in June of 2007 and they started doing more with music, but at a slow pace. Recording his first official track at age 16, he became a member of a new up coming group, Self-Made, that consisted of 3 members. He was kind of new to this part of music, but it was kind of old to him also. Interested and curious to record more, and collaborate wit many, he sees himself approaching a better look towards his newest hobby.
After taking a long break from writing and recording music, A.R. and his group members talked about making more music but never took action. In late 2007, A.R. took an action, and started a promotion operation to be known as All Star Promotions, that is now known as Paramount Promotions. He is dedicated to helping put his city, Jackson, Tennessee, on the map and it be known to the south and the nation, and no longer a secret from Tennessee.
